Tomorrow we will all wake up, maybe some of us a bit later, some sooner, and we will still drink our same coffee as we have for the past 30 or whatever years, or maybe starting tomorrow without sugar because of some new year’s resolution thing… but that ain’t much of a shift in perspective, neither going to the gym, nor helping the old neighbor take her garbage out for a day or two after ignoring her for 30 years.
We will go about our days the same way, same schedule, and the same old rigidified perspective. Soon, the only thing different will be the date signed on some application.
Unless that slurpy sip of the January 1st morning coffee magically aerates our consciousness and draws us, with utmost intensity, inward into a place of abiding honesty, clear seeing, non expectancy, shift of perspective, and places us right in front of the gate-less gates that will start a journey of true self discovery, true self-knowledge, which will ultimately be the knowledge of no-self where the real magic will begin, it will just be another coffee noisily sipped another morning.
I wish everyone a Happy New Year and a jolt of lightning to wake us up inside the land of magic and non-materialistic miracles.
God Bless us all! … but first and foremost the children and the elders who can’t defend or speak for themselves.
