Continuity

Our lives are made up of a bunch of symbols; symbols we create in order to survive; symbols we create for the sake of creativity; symbols we make up for spirituality, for music, for literature and art.

But Nature in its essence is the real symbol, symbol of life, symbol of continuity like the rivers, the earth, the mountains, the forests, the clouds, and the air. These are based in existence that one can touch.

Our culture, blinded by religious thought, has created a god that is outside of this reality and if god is not in the tree or the ocean, then we can destroy the tree or pollute the ocean.

If we could turn our attention inward for a brief moment, from time to time, as a detectable experience rather than an abstract religious thought, we could totally sense that very flow of continuity, that existence within our own bodies, within our own form as a dominant, abiding, and mind blowing presence; a potent reality that underlies nature itself; the reality that destroys abstractions the desperate mind creates; the reality that protects this whole thing; the reality that is the common thread that makes this whole thing fly together.
